Week of Sept. 9-13

A few "housecleaning" tasks to start:  many people have not sent me an AKS spreadsheet according to the directions on the Technology page.

In addition, I would like everyone to send me a link to their portfolio.  The grading rubric for that portfolio (just a beginning, to hold your stuff for the year), is here.  Email it with the email subject "CDAT16 Portfolio".  PLEASE do this correctly so it is easy for me to find.

As for this week:

- All Chemistry students should have a team plan for the week, reviewed Monday.

- Web will show me your INDIVIDUAL demos of CSS Basics, Style and Box Model on Tuesday, the 10th.

Week of Sept. 3-6

Last week we discussed the CSS "box model": http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_boxmodel.asp

Starting Tuesday, review the CSS tutorials (http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp) and cover the CSS Basic and CSS Styling sections.  You can make an amazing amount of web development with this.

Save all of the techniques in one web page and css sheet.  Call the web page "index.htm" and call the CSS sheet "demo.css"  Hopefully we can have all of this done by Friday, or Monday at the latest.

By Wednesday I will show you how to use external CSS if you have not figured it out.  It's the only way to go.

Week of Aug. 19-23

Last week you should have gotten very familiar with the very basics of HTML.  After reading a bit of the HTML5 tutorial, I hope you got an idea of what it is (just a general idea, not all of it).

Now it's time to move onto the code of HTML.  This week you should be able to get through the lessons from HTML Home to HTML Links - start here

You will have a quiz on these sets of code.  You should be able to recognize a picture of web page and write the code, or draw the picture of a web page if you read the code.
