Week of Sept. 9-13

A few "housecleaning" tasks to start:  many people have not sent me an AKS spreadsheet according to the directions on the Technology page.

In addition, I would like everyone to send me a link to their portfolio.  The grading rubric for that portfolio (just a beginning, to hold your stuff for the year), is here.  Email it with the email subject "CDAT16 Portfolio".  PLEASE do this correctly so it is easy for me to find.

As for this week:

- All Chemistry students should have a team plan for the week, reviewed Monday.

- Programming students will be asked for their code demonstrating the concepts of Chapters 1 and 2 on Monday, the 9th, and then we will review the concepts of Chapter 3 on Wednesday, the 11th.

Week of Sept. 3-6

On Tuesday, review the programming concepts from Chapter 2 of the Greenfoot book, and I will sit with you if I finish Music Tech and Video grading.

On Wednesday, you will begin your project based on the topics of Chapter 2, and it's due before the end of the week.  This is an individual demonstration, which does NOT have to be related to your projects.  This will be due next Tuesday.

Thursday and Friday might be spent on your Chapter 2 project, or your Science or Language Arts projects.

Week of Aug. 19-23

We are underway!  While we need to get EarSketch up for a good show and tell next week, Java is on!

While many of you have started at different levels, our main shared lesson is Greenfoot Chapter 1.  Your first quiz will be the terms from Chapter 1.  Chapter 1 was all about learning how to use the software, and core Java terms.  These terms are essential to your success in Java programming, forever!

Then we will move onto Chapter 2, building more games and learning more about the code, and another quiz after that!
